Just like your shop policies in your Etsy shop, a Shop Policy page is a must for your own website.
As you are working on setting up your store, make sure to create a Shop Policy page. Your policies can be the same as what you are using on Etsy, or you can customize them however you need.
Once you have that policy page created, you’ll also want to make sure to have it show up on one of your menus so your customers can find it easily – put it in the top menu bar, a sidebar, or even in the footer, wherever makes sense to you.
If you need help setting up a Policy page, click Add Store Policies Page for the Shopify Help instructions.
And of course, you can always post your questions here as well.
Here are some of my tips regarding topics you could cover on your Policy page:
- How you handle Returns, Refunds, and Exchanges
- Your Shipping policy – including missing packages, damaged packages, how to report claims, international shipments and VAT (NOTE: You may want to have a separate page devoted to your Shipping Policy and practices).
- It’s a good idea to include your contact information on your policy page – just another way to make your customers feel comfortable about doing business with you.
- If you wanted to, you could also include a link to your Privacy Policy and Terms of Service (both of which can be automatically generated for you through your Shopify dashboard through Settings > Checkout).
