You’ve created your own Shopify website and have spent time tweaking your menus and navigation, your categories, and product pages. You know your website inside and out and you feel satisfied with what you’ve accomplished – congratulations! That’s a lot of work, and you should be proud of yourself!
Now you want to share your website with the world, and are anxious to get feedback from anyone (and everyone) who is willing to look over your website. Your family and friends are happy to help, of course, and you gain good insight into what they like or don’t like about your website. But wouldn’t it be nice to have a fresh set of eyes look over your website? Someone who doesn’t know you and will give you their unbiased opinion? Well – now you can get that feedback!
The tool is called Peek User Test and it’s free to use once a month! When you submit your website to Peek User Testing, one of the testers will review your website for you – usually within 24-hours. The user tester creates a screencast video of them using your website as they comment and give you their opinions. When the tester is done, they will email you your test video. Watch the video, and then use that information and feedback to improve the user experience of your website!
After you make changes, you can request another review the next month and go from there. I have found these user tests very helpful when I make changes to my website. If you’d like to see a preview of what the video test is like, here is a link to one of my mobile test reviews.
To Request a User Test
- Go to Peek User Testing
- Enter your website URL into the text box and select either Website Test or Mobile Website Test, then click START
- Enter your information, then click GET MY TEST
- A user tester will be assigned to your test, and you will receive their video review via email
TIP: Save the video recording on your computer so you can refer back to it as you are making changes and then use that video to compare against future videos.
Give it a try!
