@jaydee Is there a video for the Shopcodes or a step by step list somewhere??? I understand parts of it, but not enough to be productive using the codes.

@jamscraftcloset - I haven't seen a video tutorial for this yet, but here is a link to the Shopcodes Help page - https://help.shopify.com/manual/apps/apps-by-shopify/shopcode

I'm happy to help with any questions you might have.

@jaydee Thanks, I read that page and it didn't help with my question...I was thinking about making codes for my collections, but I guess you can just use it for products. I can do what I want to do using a program I have for the collections. I still don't know how to apply the code to my product or does Shopcode do it automatically for me? I see a lot of possibilities, just can't figure out how to process them. ;-(

You are correct @jamscraftcloset - Shopcodes are only for products, not for collections.

To create a Shopcode for a product, you can either go to the Shopcode app and click the CREATE SHOPCODE button, then choose a product from the list, OR.... You can go to the Product Listing Page, click the MORE ACTIONS drop-down menu at the top of the screen, then click CREATE SHOPCODE.

Once you click that menu choice, you can create a Shopcode that either will bring a customer to the product page, or it will put that product in a shopping cart and bring the customer to the shopping cart.

Once you CREATE SHOPCODE, you can then either download a copy for using on the internet, or download a copy to use in print material. From there, it is up to you what you do with that code.

I create what I call "product cards" that I include with each shipment - products that I think that customer might also like. I am going to use the Shopcodes on those cards.

I've been really busy today, so haven't had much time to think about other possible uses for these Shopcodes, but I think they are SO COOL and have SO much potential!!!!

I'm going to start with them on my "product cards" for sure!

Let me know if you have more questions.

What ideas do you have for using the Shopcodes?

Thanks, JayDee...I can add them to the personalized thank you card that I put into the packaging. I agree...they are cool...I know all the ways I used them in my classroom and it think of ways to use them for my store. Thank you so much for taking the time to try to help me to understand Shopcodes. XOXO

@jamscraftcloset - Weird as it may sound, but I use my Yukon XL as a billboard of sorts.

When I go to flea markets, I always park near the entrance and I put signs in my truck windows with QR codes that people can scan as they walk by my truck. For the BIG flea markets, I even deck out my truck with helium balloons - they always draw attention to my "billboard".

I often create signs that show several products on that one sign, along with their unique QR codes to go to that product. Having the Shopcodes embedded into our Shopify Dashboards just makes the process of creating a QR code much easier, AND, it has reports that show how successful the QR codes are. I see the new Shopcodes as being a huge time-saver for me. I've only just started playing around with them today, but I already see the time-savings.

P.S. Don't laugh, but I had t-shirts made for me and my family. The front says "Love vintage?" on the chest and includes my shop logo and website URL on the sleeve. The back is a large QR code that says "Scan me". People walking behind us can scan that code and they land on my website. Walking billboards - ha!

My first thought was promoting my collections on all of my social media. Since I need to do that another way, I'll do that at another time. As for products...I will probably choose my favorites in each collection and promote on social media. I think they would work great in my blog, if I ever find time to write more blogs. I will need to think of more ways to use them...Let me know if you think of any other ways to use them.

I love the idea of signs and billboards...like the bumper stickers and window decals I had on my old car...thinking about putting them in the inside windows on my new car.

@jamscraftcloset, I see you added the codes to your shop, do you see a difference? Is it worth to add-them?, I need time to read it....

@viyoli Vicky, I only add tags when I am promoting a collection or specific item. There are no codes in my shop. Hope this helps...I am not sure how much it is helping...I know that I have had several that scanned and visited...but still not sure if it was worth the time to do it or not.
