SOCIAL MEDIA BUTTONS

TIPS:

• Every theme on Shopify includes social media buttons that you can set to point to your social media platforms. Make sure to take advantage of these buttons!
• Having social media buttons on your website provides *social proof* to your visitors that your website is an active, functioning, live website.
• When a visitor clicks on the social media buttons on your website, they will be brought to your social media profile, where they can follow you or interact with you.
• Make sure to keep your social media platforms active. By posting at least once or twice a week, you will engage more visitors and drive more traffic to your website.
• You do not have to use every social media button option that comes with your theme - just use the buttons for the platforms you are active on.

To Customize Your Social Media Buttons:

1. From your Shopify Dashboard, click Online Store
2. Click the purple Customize Theme button
3. Every theme is a little different once you get to the Customize Theme area, but you will find these buttons in the Social Media area
4. Add the URLs to the social media platforms you use, and you're all set!
5. TIP: Make sure to test the buttons to make sure they are pointing to the correct location. You can do this by either hovering over the button to see the URL in the status bar of your browser, or by actually clicking the buttons to make sure they go to the correct destination.

The location of your social media buttons on your website depends on your theme - but they are often found in the footer area, in the left navigation area, or in the header.
